Thanks so much for the very positive, and balanced, review. Your description of Maddie as Everygirl was particularly perceptive and welcome. Actually, your one criticism of the novel hit home…I was told many years ago by an agent that teen novels must always have a “love” interest, however trivial, to sustain interest. I waffled a lot in the versions of the novel on this point. I realize now that a love interest angle has its place in many novels…but not in all of them! My new novel, to be released Fall 2011, most definitely avoids the unnecessary use of this theme. Thanks again for taking the time to review my work.

We deliberately wrote our review of your book before checking out your web site, because we like to make sure we are using our own words – but this post is a lot like one of our first comments! That may be one of the more valuable points you made for family and friends – hopefully they will not be wrapped up in their own feelings of guilt to the point that they aren’t helping the person with ED.
